How to Keep the Door Open for Long Living

We had a huge ice storm hit our area this week. The power went out at my house for several hours, so we lived like pioneers cooking in the fireplace, using candles for light, etc. My kids loved it! Our inconvenience became a blessing in disguise as we were able to spend quality and quantity family time together. It has really made me count my blessings. I’ve been able to partially see how blessed I am. It’s also made me think about being around for my family as long as possible.

You see, none of us know how or when we will DIE. We don’t have control over that. But most of us can control how we LIVE. How we eat and whether or not we exercise can directly impact how long we live. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to ever shut the door on what God wants from me. If I do not take care of myself, I can shut that door!

I’m kicking off my newest series, The Biggest Loser, at my church this weekend. This will be a life changing series as we learn how God cares about how we live, what we eat, and how we view our physical bodies. I’m excited about bringing health and God together in the same place.
